Generally shopping for clothing or shoes stresses me out. However, a few days ago I had a notable experience. I've decided to gradually replenish my wardrobe with clothing and shoes that fit me better and will last me longer, as much of my closet has been with me since 2000. I have to admit this decision was in part a result of nannying for a weekend and watching too many episodes of "What not to Wear" and wondering if I might end up 40 years old with an unhealthy attatchment to my high school curdoroy bellbottoms and babydoll t-shirts.
Victory #1. I set out to find a black dress that was durable, comfortable, warm and versatile. I found what I was looking for at Express for $79.90. Painfully I brought the dress to the check out counter... And to my wonderment and joy they were having a special $30 off that day for any purchases over $75!
Victory #2. On my way down from Nordstroms, where I got a ruby red shirt marked down $50, I fell in love with the featured shoe, "Carma". (Does anyone else find it terribly awkward when turning the shoe upside down to look at the price? There's no way to do it discreetly. ) Anyhow the bottom of the shoe said 99.95 and I was forced to tear myself away from her. About an hour later I took Mary to Fredmeyers and stumbled upon a beautiful and better knockoff for only $40, marked down from $60. And it so happens that I like the knockoff, "Gigi" a bit better for her wrinkly suede on the toes. She's also a lighter Grey than the one in the photograph and is everso comfortable! I've never had a heal that doesn't hurt my feet after wearing her all day. Gigi is amazing!

Congratulations on the shopping triumph. Shopping, as well cooking, remain the great demises of my existence. One day, I hope to find joy . . .
Bridget: as soon as i'm done with finals and this treacherous cold/flu I will give you a call to go "boutiquing"...now there's a synonym for "shopping".
Cari:CWU's edmonds campus. I don't think I could ever bear to live in Ellensburg, though I hear it is possible. And might I add you make a mean quesadilla, totino's pizza, and chocolate chip pancake.
