tonight i wish i could manage to read for the next 14 hours straight. i am overwhelmed by the books i am reading and want to read: each a wonderful treasure, deserving my full attention, i owe them hours uninterrupted and then a days for reflection.

Currently reading (three of which i have already read):

Color by Victoria Finlay: a natural history of the palette (thank you Sean for knowing i would love such a book)

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien: always a summer delight, like having a sprinkled cupcake for the first time in years

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis: have been reading aloud with Sean while drinking our homemade tea

The Four Loves by CS Lewis: can't read it enough

And taken home from the library today:

* a book on piano theory and practice
*two Tolkien biographies I haven't read yet
* a collection of Gabriel Garcia Marquez
*a book on Watercolor
*a book on Flamenco

Wanting to purchase from the bookstore:

The Anthropology of Turquoise
The Prodigal Summer
and more i cannot think of...

Better and shorter than Prodigal Summer is

Animal Dreams

By the same author, Barbara Kingsolver. It's one of my absolute favorites and its a quick read.
