The first person I spoke with today was a journalist for the Seattle Times. She was heading over to Kingston (for those of you who don't know... I work at a coffee shop by the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry), today to write a story on the Extreme Home Makeover Episode that they're filming here! Maybe it's not thaaaaat cool, but still just think: Kingston's going National!. And I wonder how all of our tree-loving hippies feel about that? Anyway, turns out I actually know the people who's home, well more-so "property" that they're re-doing. Tragic story. But i'll let all those reading learn of it at a later time or you can simply watch the episode when it airs.
I just got home from spending the night with Bridget, Kiersten and Cari (in order of appearance) and am still on a funny-night-high. We went to Tully's for some pre-motion-picture espresso. Peeked into all of the quaint gift shops our little city offers. Went to see The Incredibles. Laughed our butts off. Ate a late dinner at the Beach Cafe. Pondered people we have once known and watched change drastically. Figured out that whenever Cari is going to say anything slightly vulgar, she sneaks it in by disguising her words with her "opera voice". I'm not just saying that to be funny either, she really does this. The other night she was singing and when I stopped to interpret the lyrics to her, what i at first thought to be , classic song, I realized she was singing "i see you baby, shakin' that...." Tricky Girl, I say, tricky girl. Most of the early evening was spent discovering new ways to wear a scarf. Cari: as a tie or ascott...Bridget: as a, well this is tricky, i guess you might call it burka/fake bangs/table runner? And Kiersten: as a simple but very bold...brooch. I will post pictures as soon as I can figure out how to do so. After the movie Cari had prior arrangements leaving Kiersten, Bridget and myself to venture to Kiersten's habitat. Once there I found myself lying on Kiersten's bed watching the other two put on a very different, very Capitol Hill-ish Costume Parade. The rest is a blur of gut wrenching laughter, black box theatre memories, parenting-methods and the disbelief that i hadn't fallen asleep yet. And now ladies and gentlemen as it is 3 am in the morning and i have been up for 22 hours I bid a much needed farewell.
Oh and I almost forgot...I finally got in for my root canal yesterday and guess what??????? There was no pain whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I don't think I'd been as excited as I was yesterday when Dr. Boegart told me he just needed an Xray and I could go!!!! Now.... I go floss.
