Contrast

Cari, whom I lovingly refer to as "Brain", came over last night to share her design wisdom and knowledge. The girl seriously thinks of everything, I don't think I will ever arrange furniture or pick a paint color in the future without her blessing.  I'm most excited about the wall we are going to paint a really Dark Blue. And am also excited to start thinking about colors and textures differently.

So anyhow, I think one of the most valuable lessons I learned last night was the importance of contrast.  This post was originally just going to be a snapshot of last weekend, but then I realized all of the photos (maybe not the cat photo, but still) have nice "contrast"!

Boxes everywhere. Cat heaven. They have no idea what is coming. Also, love my B&W girlie, Sophia!
Mary and I each darkened up our hair a little this weekend. Her best friend has a salon attached to her house, and was so sweet to do it for us. It was practically a spa day. Most importantly, Mary was very entertained by how much I looked like "Dracula". eh.
Also, I found these B&W vintage shoes at Goodwill IN my size. I had a pair like this in high school, that were stolen, maybe same pair?

And a little bit darker, much more suitable for my quickly fading skin.
