It is so difficult for me to put together a bedroom that functions and makes me happy. Often our bedroom is used as a laundry room, storage area, and home theatre. Its been almost four years since I began thinking about creating a really get bedroom, and am still surrounded by laundry baskets, cardboard boxes, and remote controls. Not for long...I'm taking one of the things that makes me most happy: an original "Sharon and the Seashell" by Bridget Beth and using it as inspiration.
Fortunately another one of my most cherished friends, Cari Mullaney, is a terrific interior architect/designer, who I would trust with my entire wardrobe and house! Not to mention, she understands my style, sometimes better than I do! Last time she was at our place I said, "Cari, my bedroom needs help." She promptly offered her wisdom. And then, she surprised me with a series of emails full of bedding research she had done for me. Does it get any better? Now I am down to 3 different bed sets to choose from:Shangri-la
I feel like this one was made for me. But...it's almost $300, and well, there are so many things I could buy/do with that much. My birthday is almost here though, and I still could spend the Christmas money from Sean's grandma, so maybe. In fact I probably will get it, I just need to talk myself into it (and Sean).
One of the runners up, I like it because Cari had talked to me about "splashes" of brightness in the room, and our dresser and bed stands are quite bright and happy, this might help balance out the room.
Of course, I just adore this one! I like it more than the mosaic, but i'm trying to be careful with how many patterns and colors are in the room. After the shangri-la though, it really is incredible. And it's at a great price right now. I may be able to talk myself in to buying both the shangri-la and the colorful set. Someday we will need bedding for a guestroom...right?

We shall see. My goal is to be done with the bedroom by February 1st, hold me to it! I will post pictures : ).

BTW, When I saw the "Shangri-la" whatever, I thought the exact thought, then looked at the price, and considered not sending it, but had to anyways. If you have birthday and Christmas money, BUY IT! You'll love it every single time you crawl into bed, and isn't that what "bed" is all about? DO IT!
