My fortunes in life are my female friends. I don't mean to be prideful about them, but really, these girls I call my friends are just insanely amazing All are anything but average....they're funny and when I mean funny I don't mean girls who think they can make people laugh by being hyper and dancing to 80's tunes or saying silly meaningless quotes that are a bit obscure, not that that type of humor is bad by any means, it's just common, you know? But these girls I know, these girls have quality humor. Almost every sentence they utter is a package of wit, perspective, knowledge, reality, and of course the comedy of it all. How they do this in a tone that is not sarcastic, but appreciates life and it's drama is mind boggling? No cheap laughs here folks, they don't have to be dirty,or provocative or slander anyone, or go against they're values, they just have the God-given talent of Comedy....and I love knowing them all. These same girls offer so much more than their humor though, which is really why I cherish each of them. They have a raw beauty to them, which is quite rare considering all of the fashion hype around these parts.They aren't about shopping or their careers, they aren't about hip-hop or punk rock , they aren't about their boyfriends or ex-boyfriends or future boyfriends, they arne't about working out or magazines, they aren't about diets, they aren't about cool cars, they aren't about partying, they aren't about flirting, they aren't about making other girls jealous. They seek truth. They value the people who never get noticed. They give in secret. They respect themselves. They respect their future husbands, or present (that really only applies to bridget though). They wear what expresses them best opposed to what will turn the next guys head. They are aware of the rest of the world and they care about the world beyond an attempt to convert numbers to an american-christianity. I'm struggling here trying to make clear how wonderful these girls are and how I really believe that they aren't your every day girls. And really, I can't do it. It's late true, but if it weren't I still could never describe in full the treasure each of them hold. They're just genuine and that's that. What you get is what you see, and what you see is oh so beautiful.
