7 days

I haven't had butterflies this badly since standing behind the heavy black curtains before my first play in Highschool.

7 days stand between me and 3 months off from school!!! Lost have been the days of getting off at 1:30 pm and having the entire day to read, write, play, ponder and be present with others. For the last year and a half now I have been juggling a ferry commute, work, a full time load at school, a household, a new marriage, a sore attempt to keep friendships up to date, managing family relationships and in the last 3 months a second job...phew! To put it simply: I got a gift certificate for a massage last christmas and have not been able to use it yet!!!!

Though there are the days that I have a refreshing afternoon with a friend and momentarily forget my graphing calculator, they are all too rare. I tell myself that I would be a fool to not take advantage of my full ride for school, not to mention the monthly stipend :). But sometimes the nomad in me wants to tell Sean we are selling everything we own and will work our way around the world a few times....( maybe when I graduate).

All this to say that I am beyond excited for next tuesday... I can't stop thinking about it!!! I am afraid I won't want to go back in October, we will see.

Bridget asked me today what I will do with my summer off....my initial response: get a tan! Ha, the things you end up missing the most...laying in the sun. I also have been pondering: auditioning for a play, a roadtrip, a cruise, writing more, a family reunion, spontaneous get-togethers with friends, writing letters, swimming, camping, late nights, beachwalks, and all the other wonders a carefree summer can bring.

May the countdown begin!
