This is my boyfriend Sean. Beneath him, is the only competition I have: Vicente Amigo. Sean loves Vicente, the first thing he asked me after I told him I figured out how to post pictures was if I could put a picture of Vicente up. Needless to say, I have a ways to go in reflecting this Flamenco god.

This is what Sean would like you to know about Vicente Amigo:

Guadalcanal (Seville), 1967. Guitarist. He has lived in Cordoba since he was five. "My mother says that when I was a boy, I used to take the broomstick and play it. I do not remember, nor do I remember a toy plastic guitar they bought me. I do remember, that I heard Paco de Lucía, while so young I may have still been in my home town. That is strange, as I was too young. I was mindblown and from then on, well I do not know. One day I saw a neighbor of mine playing the guitar on the lawn and that was when I fell totally in love". He was very young when he began to work with the Manolo Sanlúcar group, with which he completed his apprenticeship. He began his career on his own forming an irrepeatable couple with El Pele, due to the profound understanding there was between the cante and playing. "It is necessary have an understanding beyond the pure cante to accompany well", he affirms. He eventually broke with the singer to concentrate almost exclusively on concerts, forging himself a place amongst the best of his generation; in a few years, Vicente Amigo has toured practically the whole world, has played at the most prestigious festivals and has consolidated himself a firm prestige. Some have even written that he may become a new Paco de Lucía. He won the most important flamenco guitar prizes, such as that of La Unión (1988), Extremadura (1988) and Cordoba (1989).
