a glimpse into the life of the ever-energetic, milk consuming, curly haired Cari Ann Carnahan who has never once ceased to amaze me:
"Last night. Utter chaos. The inescapable pre-finals breakdown hit and hit hard. All I could do was run. And so I did. But I guess that's a lie. Because I didn't only run. I took off my shoes and ran, on the beach, on the Seattle beach. I took off my shoes and ran barefoot on the cold, rocky Seattle beach at midnight. Crazy long curly hair bouncing after me, my sweater slowly unzipping with every step, making my t-shirt less and less warm, causing my to fully realize how delightful my escape was. A leap and a dig with every step as my movement pushed the earth aside, waves slowly laping inches away from my feet. Mountains on the left, hills to the right. Euphoria hits just as the frostbite chomps. And I run back to my friend, who has heroicly saved me from studies. We laugh. One awkward moment of amazement at how wonderful sharing life can be, and then we walk back to his car, carefully missing every painful piece of gravel until that last step. Ironicly, it is full of rocks and I jump into the front seat - door unopened by him. But I am okay with that. I dust off my feet and close the door. HEAT please! We slowly drive home and I return to the abnormality of mental retardedness, brought on by too many classes and two jobs. The joys of collegiate obsessive compulsive disorder. I content myself with two halfway done projects and tuck myself in. What a good night."
